Our Path to Becoming Your Trusted Grocery Source

1985

Initially, in 1985, Avinash Rajkumar Gandhi had a small grocery shop in front of the railway station and a jeep with it. At the young age of 18, he stubbornly and boldly started driving himself whenever there was such a need.

Later he built Ajinkya Mini Market and pioneered the idea of packed grocery. Along with other household necessities, the store began selling daily necessities like milk and frozen goods. Due to the opening of Baramati MIDC around the same time, customers gave a good response and recognition to Ajinkya Mini Market.

The store at the time was smaller for the huge footfall it was getting hence he decided to build Ajinkya Big Bazaar. The money was tight but his sheer determination and strong will didn't let him sit idle. He finally dared to take a loan to buy land for his dream.

1996

In 1996, the concept of the mall was very foreign to people. Customers had to be taught the self-service concept that prevails in such malls. There were such mall-like bazaars like Kolhapur Farmers' Bazaar and Pune Grahak Peth but they were publicly funded malls.

Because of such variety, quality, and affordability, customers were impressed and nudged to expand Ajinkya Big Bazaar. After which we started selling furniture, electricals, home furnishing, men's and women's clothing, and much more. We provided the best customer service by introducing customers to self-service and shopping with baskets and trolleys.

Today

As all the products are directly sourced from the manufacturers, we were able to offer these products at affordable and competitive rates. And the 4000 sq. ft. Ajinkya Bazaar, which opened in 1996, has grown to a 30000 sq. ft. Ajinkya Big Bazaar as a result of the trust and loyalty of our cherished customers.
